DIVE, SNORKEL OR FREEDIVE THE WORLDS MOST FAMOUS RIVER

Still one of the worlds wildest locations, a last frontier where ancient cultures are preserved as they were, we are in process of mounting an expedition to dive with some truly amazing creatures. This one is not for the feint hearted!

We’re teaming up with two foundations based in the Amazon, both created to support the locals river inhabitants in an ever modernising world. Each with the aim of preserving their way of life and giving them an income without forcing them into the large cities, and in doing so, remaining in the forests ensuring their protection from loggers, poachers and other negative external influences.

Not only will this trip lead to close encounters with wildlife very few people can say they’ve witnessed first hand, let alone underwater, but also directly contribute to the preservation of the local people and the Amazon Rainforest.

This trip is open to divers and non divers alike, with snorkelling and freediving accomodated on every outing.

We will board the boat in the main harbour of Manaus and set sail that day. Relax in your hammock and enjoy the stunning scenery as we chug up the river.

There is only one cabin on the boat which will be reserved for the most ‘senior’ (polite way of saying the oldest!) member of the team. The rest of us will be in hammocks! Greatest and most tradtional way of travelling the worlds largest river!

Arrive in the small village of Xixuau, a protected reserve. Settle into village life, meet the locals and explore your surroundings before we begin the first dives in the worlds most famous river basin.

Decide if you want to dive, snorkel or freedive up to 3 times a day, or if you’d prefer to stay dry choose from river fishing, jungle treks, boat trips, or spend time with the locals, learn about their culture and way of life, visit the science/research centre, or just get stuck into a good book! It’s your holiday…

Jump back on the river boat for the stunning journey back to Manaus.

PLEASE NOTE

All dive sites are subject to weather conditions and the final route taken is at the absolute discretion of the captain and dive guides. So, the itinerary is an example of the planned route and dive sites cannot be guaranteed.
